Having a healthy baby is every pregnant woman's dream. And we always keep trying to maintain the health of our baby.
There is some medical tradition during pregnancy, which you are required to meet the nutritional intake to support fetal development.
There are 6 things to avoid for pregnant women, they are:
1. Raw Food
Raw foods derived from animals and vegetables, they sometimes have a high risk to your health. The food of raw fish such as sushi, half cooked meat and raw cookie dough may still contain bacteria, viruses, and parasites which can interfere with the development of your fetus. Raw vegetables such as raw sprouts have a higher risk of bacteria compared with other vegetables. Consume these foods by complete cooked to avoid health risks.
2. Fish with Mercury
Generally ocean fish is very good for body, and health of your fetus. But you need to be selective because of this type of fish can contain with mercury which is not good for your growing baby. High mercury type of fishes are mackerel, swordfish, tile fish which have possibilities to harm the brain development and fetus nervous system.
3. Alcoholic Beverages
Alcoholic beverages will interrupt intake of nutrients to your baby, this can interfere oxygen needed by the fetus. Alcohol can affects the fetus brain's ability, so for those who consume alcohol will cause some disorders of newborn including IQ and other physical disorders.
4. Caffeine
Many studies linking caffeine to pregnancy. In normal circumstances caffeine does not affect significantly on your fetus development, but if consumed excessive each day, caffeine can affect as well. Because of the content of caffeine found in a cup of coffee supplement drinks will result in increased risk of miscarriage and low weight babies born, even in severe cases will resulting in stillbirth.
5. Excess Calories
When you are pregnant you need extra calories, but in sufficient quantities in the right portion. This can avoid the problem of obesity for those who are pregnant. Pregnant women who are obese before pregnancy will have risk on increased rate of babies born with high weight or having diabetes. But this doesn't mean you can lose weight during pregnancy to inhibits nutrients to the fetus.
6. Wearing tight clothes
Using warm tight clothes will increase the risk especially in the abdomen which would interfere with fetal development. For those who want a fashionable maternity clothes, you can choose clothes which doesn't have a rubber material on the abdomen.
